Concorde's Fiftieth Anniversary

Concorde's Fiftieth Anniversary

On March 2nd we will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Concorde first flight.

This is an achievement and a challenge still unrivalled to this day and that made a mark in the history of aviation and no doubt justify all the articles, columns, special editions, publications, shows, documentaries and events that will celebrate this anniversary in the coming days and throughout this year. Comptoir de l’Aviation could overlook such a milestone and decided to contribute by proposing a souvenir that measures up to this major event.

What else but the flight manual of the prototype to celebrate Concorde first flight? It is a remarkable document to most connoisseurs as, I believe, it has never been offered for sale, not even during the 2003 Concorde auctions: the flight manual of Concorde 001 – F-WTSS.

The document itself does not require an extended description. Its content is quite standard (texts and drawings related to the controls, instruments, airframe, procedures, flight phases, etc.). It is in excellent shape and complete, written in French (captions are in English), composed of pages among which the oldest date back prior to the first flight in November 1968, the last updates having been made in February 1971.

For those who cannot come to the store and look at the Manual, we propose here a few selected extracts, the Manual being composed of many pages. Please contact the store if you have any question.
