This is a unique piece, created by a cabinetmaker on Comptoir de l’Aviation’s request. It is not a model made in Asia in some exotic woods but rather an item made in France according to blueprints, by a French craftsman who shaped selected pieces of walnut trees to produce a model of this fine and famous airplane.

It is, of course, the Caudron C-450 whose recognizable features and volumes were replicated with the utmost care. Similarly, the wings were crafted in such a way that, once finished, the wood grain would not hinder the visual symmetry of the model. Respecting shapes and proportions is essential to render the suggestive power of a model, and in this regard, this item is outstanding.

The Caudron C-450 was a small aircraft and for this reason, the right scale had to be applied for this piece to keep all the majesty of its famed real-life model. A 1:20 scale was chosen, giving the model a 34 cm / 13.39" wingspan and a 36 cm / 14.17" length. These are ideal dimensions that showcase the piece without making it too cumbersome.

This masterpiece was made to be unique so that its future owner can enjoy not only being in possession of an exquisite item but also of the unique and sole model ever created.
