Mytère 20 : Demonstration model

This Mystère 20 model, painted in the prototype's colors, is an interesting and original piece as it can be described as a "demonstration" model. The aircraft is presented as a cutaway and in truncated form because the purpose of this piece was to showcase the two possible cabin configuration.

The first configuration is that of a "business jet" for the civilian version or a "liaison aircraft" for the military version. The cabin is equipped with a bar, various seats that slide on rails (with reclining backrests), and foldable or retractable tables. The pilot figurines wear navy blue civilian uniforms.

All of these elements, however, can be removed and they can be replaced with other accessories to create a layout corresponding to the military version of the aircraft. This version likely foreshadowed the one used by the Centre d'essais en Vol (CEV, the French US AFTC or British DSTL)

In this configuration, the nose is replaced by a pointed radome ending with a static pitot. The cabin layout includes various consoles, some equipped with radar scopes. The comfortable reclining seats of the business version are replaced by simpler armchairs, chairs, and folding seats. The crew, including pilots and operators, wear beige uniforms.

The model, almost certainly produced by La Maquette d'Étude et d'Exposition (MEE), is at a 1:20 scale. The fuselage measures 80 cm in length for the civilian version and is displayed on a base (48 cm x 21 cm x 5 cm) marked "Avions Marcel Dassault." This model, in excellent/perfect condition, was likely made as a unique piece, at least in this executive presentation.
