Radiator cap mascot commemorating two famous French aviators of the late 1920s: Charles Nungesser and François Coli, who disappeared during their attempt to cross the Atlantic aboard L’Oiseau Blanc after departing from Le Bourget on May 8, 1927. This piece reflects the spirit of the monument dedicated to them (destroyed by the Germans in 1942) in Étretat, the town they flew over before beginning their transatlantic crossing. It is also comparable to the later work now affixed to the façade of the Musée d’Étretat. Dimensions: total height 24,5 cm / 9.65", total width 17 cm / 6.7".
