This object is initially a model of a propeller blade made for wind tunnel tests. Subsequently it was transformed into a promotional item, which was quite common in the past. Many test models were thus painted to become display models. Obviously this is what happened with the affixing of the manufacturer's mark on this model. This one, an English one, was produced by the company F. Hill and Sons Ltd. during the Second World War and is comparable to that held by the Science Museum Group (Follow this link for an overview). Dimensions: height of the blade 26 cm / 10.25", width (at the widest) 4 cm / 1.6", total height with the base 28.5 cm / 11.2".
