Many countries require, in addition to the registration affixed to the fuselage, that each aircraft be equipped with an identity plate on which appears its registration and other important information. It is a different plate from the manufacturer's plate. Most of the time It is also required that this plate, often imprinted on a permanent fireproof plate, must be affixed outside or inside the aircraft. So there is only one plate by plane. Here is the plate for the F-BVFF, the one which was fixed in the cockpit of the Air France Concorde which is now displayed on the edge of the runways of Paris - Charles de Gaulle Airport. Dimensions of the plate: 6 cm x 12,3 cm (2.36" x 4.72").
